Old-Fashioned Custard Pie: A Creamy Slice of Americana From the Oven

Instructions
1.Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Place the unbaked pie crust into a 9-inch pie dish and set aside.
2.In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs and sugar until smooth and slightly pale.
3.Gradually whisk in the milk, followed by the vanilla extract, salt, and nutmeg, mixing gently until fully combined.
4.Carefully pour the custard mixture into the prepared pie crust. Sprinkle a light dusting of nutmeg over the top for a classic finish.
5.Bake for 40–45 minutes, or until the custard is just set in the center and slightly wobbly when gently shaken.
6.Remove from the oven and allow the pie to cool completely. The custard will continue to firm up as it cools.
7.Slice and serve at room temperature or chilled, plain or with freshly whipped cream.

This Old-Fashioned Custard Pie is proof that sometimes the simplest desserts are the most memorable. Delicate, comforting, and endlessly nostalgic, it’s a recipe that feels like a warm hug — one you’ll come back to again and again
